What We Help With
Medicare Advantage
All-in-one plans that include Medicare Parts A & B, often with additional benefits like vision, dental, and wellness programs.
May include built-in prescription drug coverage (MAPD plans).
Offers fixed copays and out-of-pocket maximums for better cost predictability.
Network-based plans (HMO or PPO), often requiring referrals or in-network care for lowest costs.
Medicare Supplement Plans
Helps pay for costs not covered by Original Medicare (like deductibles, copays, and coinsurance).
Nationwide provider access with no network restrictions.
No referrals required—freedom to see any provider that accepts Medicare.
Plans are standardized across insurers, making comparison easier (e.g., Plans G, N).
Enrollment Guidance
Personalized support to understand eligibility and enrollment timelines (Initial Enrollment, SEP, AEP).
Assistance comparing plan types based on your doctors, medications, and budget.
Education on how Medicare works with employer coverage or COBRA.
Help avoiding late enrollment penalties and ensuring continuous coverage.
Part D
Standalone drug coverage for those with Original Medicare or Medigap.
Covers both generic and brand-name medications, with tiered pricing.
Annual formulary reviews to ensure continued medication coverage.
Guidance on choosing plans based on your specific prescription needs and preferred pharmacy.
Understanding Medicare for the First Time?
Navigating Medicare can feel overwhelming at first—but with the right guidance, it becomes manageable. Here are a few essential things to know as you begin exploring your options:
Medicare Has Multiple Parts
Medicare is divided into different "parts" that cover specific services:
Part A covers hospital stays, skilled nursing care, and some home health care.
Part B covers outpatient care, doctor visits, and preventive services.
Part C (Medicare Advantage) is an all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare, offered by private insurance companies. It often includes extra benefits like dental, vision, and hearing.
Part D helps cover the cost of prescription drugs.
Timing Matters: When to Enroll
Your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) starts 3 months before your 65th birthday and lasts for 3 months following. Missing key deadlines can lead to penalties, such as the Part D penalty if you are not covered by a drug plan, or needing to go through medical underwriting if you wait to enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan. Enrolling on-time means you can avoid penalties and also receive a guaranteed issued supplement plan.
Original Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage
You can choose how you receive your Medicare benefits:
Original Medicare (Parts A & B) is provided by the government and allows you to see any doctor that accepts Medicare.
Medicare Advantage (Part C) bundles your benefits into a single plan, often with added perks and lower out-of-pocket costs—but with a network of providers.
Instead of Part C, many beneficiaries decide to instead enroll into a Medicare Supplement plan.
Medicare Supplement Plans (Medigap)
Original Medicare doesn't cover everything. Many people add a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan to help pay for out-of-pocket expenses like deductibles and coinsurance. These plans are standardized and offered by private insurers.
